Elanor
Elanor had been bullied her whole life. Not only at school, but also at home by her stepfather, Richie. The summer before she started on her new school she had been relegated from her home by Richie, so she had to live in some strangers house. Elanors family was poor, and her mother was addicted to her husband because of it. -
Park
Park lived with his parents and his brother, Josh. They were a pretty normal familiy, where they all loved each other. Parks mother was from Korea and it was reflected in parks look. -
Elanors first day of school
This is where park first saw Elanor. She had red and curly hair, and wore clothes that made it look like she wanted to be bullied. As Park had anticipated, the other students on the schoolbus started to make fun of her -
The mean stepdad
Richie, Elanors stepdad, were drinking. At night when Elanor and her siblings had went to bed, they could hear their mother scream and cry. The mother had always bruises all over her body. Nobody liked Richie, but without him they wouldn´t survive. -
cartoons and music
Elanor and park ended up sitting next to each other on the schoolbus. They didn´t talk in the beginning, but they slowly got to know each other by sharing cartoons and music -
The first visit
Park couldn´t wait to show elanor the new cartoon he had gotten. He desided to walk all the way to elanors house. It was elanors stepdad who opened the door. Ritchie was mean to elanor before this happening, but now he started to call her things that really hurted her feelings. -
babysitting
Elanrors father had moved from her mother a few years ago. They hadn´t talked since that so elanor was surprised whean a teacher told har that her father was on the phone. Elanor looked forward to babysit her halfbrother, because she knew that her father had a telephone. She planned to call park so they could talk, and already on the buss at their way home she asked for his number -
the phonecall
This is when elanor and park really get to know each other. They could finally ask personal questions because they were all alone. -
Elanor meet parks parents
For the first time park invited elanor to dinner with his family. Elanor was surprised that his parents was so nice to her. After the dinner they saw a movie and talked. Elanor had lied to her mother and said the she was going to a friend that did not even exist. -
Park gets expelled for two days
It was just another day in Elanors life. She wondered what the girls at school would to do her today. It started already on the bus. Elanor sat down next to Park as usual. The mean girl Tina and her boyfriend Steve shouted mean words to her. When they got off the bus at school, an anger had been build up inside park. Park was actually friend with Steve but because of how he had treated Elanor, he hit him in the middle of the schoolyard. Park got expelled for this action. -
Elanor and park gets official
Because park and steves fight, everyone knew about park and elanors relationship. They felt relieved and they did not have to hide it anymore. The other students thought it was wierd thet the short asian boy was together with the big girl with red hair. -
The police
One night Elanor heard gunshots, voices and someone breaking in the door. She reacted with climbing out the bedroom window and borrow the neighbour´s telephone. The police shows up, but found no signs of strangers in her house so they leaved. Richie gets furious at Elanor. He thought she should mind her own problems -
christmas
Elanor was at parks house every day during the christmas-break. Elanor had given park a book for christmas, and she had gotten a necklace from him -
the date
Park had just got his driving license and wanted to take elanor somewhere. They ended up in Omahas version of central park. After they had walked around for a while, park asked if Elanon wanted to go to prom with him. When elanor came home late that night, she could hear her mother scream again. When she went into her room without making a sound, she found a note -
The note
The note was from Richie. He had found out that she was out that night. He had written that she was a whore and that it was over. Elanor went out of the house again. She couldn´t be there. She was on her way to park when she met tina and steve and some of the other on the bus. They had met elanors stepfather and he was looking for elanor. For some reason they helped elanor and called park. They stayed in Steves garage. -
The roadtrip
Elanors uncle, had told Elanor that she alway was welcome at their house in Minnesota. Elanor had become so scared for Richie that she did not dare to go home. Park would not let her take the bus or hitchhike with someone, so he decided to drive her. the drove all night and when they finally arrived, they had to say goodbye. -
The end
Elanor wrote letters to her mother. She never saw Park again. Park went to prom with another girl, but Elanor was still the love of his life.
