    Russian peasants, workers, and soldiers who are all exhausted from the events caused by World War I they all take the streets and protest their living conditions.
    Old Major gather all the animals into a barn to discus how terrible they are being treated and how they need to take charge and take over the farm to get the conditions they deserve.
  • Leaders step down

    Leaders step down
    After the majority of the Petrograd garrison of soldiers join the revolt against the Royal Family Tsar Nicholas II is forced to abdicate. The animals take control of the farm in the Battle of Cowshed and Mr. Jones is forced to flee.
  • A provisional government

    A provisional government
    A provisional government is set up to serve in the Royal Familys' place. The pigs become like a provisional government and take the role as leader but still state that all animals are equal.
  • Rise to power

    Rise to power
    Communist leader Vladimir Lenin returns to Petrograd after a 10-year exile from Russia and begins to rebuild his power. Napoleon takes his rise to power and shows that he is more powerful and smart than the rest of the animals.
  • Exiled

    Exiled
    Aleksandr Kerensky becomes the head of a new government. Fearing a possible violet takeover by the Bolsheviks, he accuses Lenin of being a “German agent,” which results in Lenin’s fleeing the country for Finland. Napoleon kicked Snowball off the farm to assert his independence and make himself seen as a leader since they argued about who was in charge of the farm.
  • Blaming

    Blaming
    Kornilov’s failed intervention serves to increase the power and popularity of the Bolsheviks as more Russians defensively flock to Kornilov’s main target. After two years the animals finally finish building the windmill but during a storm it was torn down. Napoleon uses this tragedy as a excuse to turn the animals against Snowball and fully Napoleon.
  • Secret spy

    Secret spy
    A disguised Lenin returns to Petrograd. He stays hidden from Russian authorities over the following weeks as he works with the Bolsheviks. Napoleon tells all the animals that Snowball has been sneaking around the farm, destroying their crops, sabotaging them, and reporting their actions back to the other farms.
  • Change of government

    Change of government
    The Bolsheviks and revolutionary soldiers get ride of the provisional government and declare that state power has been passed to the soviets. Napoleon has his nine dogs as protection and whenever one of the animals thinks ill of him, he uses the force of his dogs as punishment. Napoleon begins to live like the humans and make amends with the other farm owners.
