El rey garantizó una serie de derechos y libertades y se indicaba que el monarca no podía aprobar leyes, crear impuestos o cobrarlos sin la aprobación del Parlamento. Se establecieron así las bases de la división de poderes. -

JAMES WATT

REVOLUCIÓN FRANCESA
La Revolución Francesa fue un proceso social y político que se desarrolló en Francia entre 1789 y 1799 cuyas principales consecuencias fueron la abolición de la monarquía absoluta y la proclamación de la República, eliminando las bases económicas y sociales del Antiguo Régimen. -
ASALTO DE LA BASTILLA
El pueblo de Paris asaltó la Bastilla acabando con el poder absolutista de la monarquía francesa. Se abolieron los derechos feudales y se aprobaron los derechos del hombre y del ciudadano. -
CONVENCIÓN NACIONAL
Las revueltas de 1792 provocaron nuevas elecciones. De elllas nació una asamblea llamada Convención Nacional. Los grupos con más fuerza en la Convención fueron los girondinos y los jacobinos. -
CONVENCIÓN MONTAÑESA
Meses después de la ejecución de Luis XVI los montañeses, dirigidos por Robespierre, se hicieron con el poder. Se implantó el Terror: cualquier persona sospechossa de no apoyar la revolución seria juzgado y ejecutado en la guillotina. Robespierre fue perdiendo poder y posteriormente él y sus seguidores fueron ejectuados. -

Napoleón fue desterrado a la isla de Elba tras ser derrotado en esta batalla. Posteriormente regresó a Francia y gobernó durante 100 días. -
GEORGE STEPHENSON
British engineer who built the first steam-powered locomotive to transport coal between Stockton and Darlington in 1814. In 1830 he built the first public transport railway line. -
LOCOMOTORA DE VAPOR
Una locomotora de vapor es una locomotora impulsada por la acción del vapor de agua.La primera locomotora de vapor fue construida por el británico Richard Trevithick en 1803. El ingles George Stephenson fue uno de los percursores de las locomotoras a vapor, y el 25 de julio de 1814 Stephenson terminó la construcción de su primera locomotora. -
BATALLA DE WATERLOO
Última batalla de Napoleón, donde fue derrotado y terminó su Imperio de los cien días. Fue desterrado a la isla de Santa Elena donde murió. -
CONGRESO DE VIENA
Reunión celebrada en Viena en 1815 presidida por Metternich, donde se reunieron las potencias que vencieron a Napoleón. Su objetivo fue garantizar una paz duradera y evitar nuevas revoluciones. -
