Egypt Revolution

  • First day 25 January 2011

    First day 25 January 2011
Egyptians protest nationwide against the rule of the President Hosni Mubarak. Hundreds of protesters are killed as Mubarak and his group try to destroy the uprising. I chose this because it was the pivot day of all the coming uprisings in Egypt and the major collaboration of the whole nation to change.
  • Hosni Mubarak leaving presidency

    Hosni Mubarak leaving presidency
Mubarak leaves presidency and gives the power over to the military. The military dissolves parliament and suspends the constitution, meeting two key demands of protesters. I chose this because Husni Mubarak has ruled Egypt for thirty years and finally he accepted stepping down.
  • First parliamentary elections after revolution

    First parliamentary elections after revolution
Egypt holds weeks-long parliamentary elections. In the lower house, the Muslim Brotherhood wins nearly half the seats, and ultraconservative Salafis take another quarter. The remainder goes to liberal, independent and secular politicians. In the largely powerless upper house, Islamists take nearly 90 per cent of the seats. I chose this because it reflects the govermental change after the revolution.
  • Ahmad shafeek and mohammad morsi finalists in the first presidential elections

Ahmad shafeek and mohammad morsi finalists in the first presidential elections
    1. In the first round of voting in presidential elections has a field of 13 candidates. Morsi and Ahmed Shafiq, the last prime minister under Mubarak, finished at the top two, to face each other in a run-off. After people made their minds they came up to two top finishers and that can help lead up and stop the protesting. I chose this because it is a big indicator that there are some people still conected to the old goverment.
  • Morsi winning the Elections

    Morsi winning the Elections
The Egyptians finished voting between Morsi and Ahmad Shafiq. Morsi won with 51.7 percent. Morsi wins so now most people should stop because it was the major voting from the people. I chose this because its the first time Egyptians genuinely elect a prasedent in 30 years.
  • Morsi Deadline

    Morsi Deadline
Deadline for Morsi and opponents to come to agreement. The military will make its own plan if they don’t agree. Morsi is forced to step down by the military and the constitution is suspended. The military is running the country now. I chose this because Democracy didn't give a better solution.
  • Mubarak's powerful allies all go down

Mubarak's powerful allies all go down
Morsi orders the retirement of the top Mubarak-era leadership of the military. I chose this because it is important to finish up all of the old goverment.
