Settlement of Jamestown
This was a settlement by about 104 English citizens who arrived in America and began a colony in Virginia, which they called their settlement after King James 1.

First Public school Opened
On April 23 1635 the first public school was opened for boys only. It was for college prep. This school was led by schoolmaster Philemon Pormont, a Puritan settler. The school was modeled by one of the schools in England. A fun fact about this school is that Benjamin Franklin was a dropout of this school.

First printing press
The first printing press that was used in the colonies was in Massachusetts in 1638. It was set up at Harvard College. It made printing papers and other things much easier. In turn, people could learn to read for cheaper and easier. Brown Vs. Board
This was a historical event in US education History since this was a fight so black students could go to school with white students. Nation at Risk was a report that President Regan told the public that the education system was a failure. He said that to get rid of the education system in the capital.
