    Edgar's mother and father dies while on tour in Richmond. Poe is then moved to a new home with foster parents named John and Frances Allan. This is where Edgar attains the name Edgar Allan Poe.

    Edgar begins his schooling in England at 6 years old.

    Edgar drops out of schooling because his step-father ,John, will not give him anymore money despite the fact that John's uncle passed away 2 years prior, leaving a small fortune. Edgar then joins the US Army so he can support himself and also writes his first peice called "Tamerlane and other Poems".
    -Ludwig Beethoven also passes away this year.

    Edgar's step-mother passes away this year and Edgar returns home. Edgar and his step-father work things out and Edgar applies to West Point, in which John sponsers him.

    John Allan passes away and leaves Edgar nothing in his will which greatly upsets him.
