Eliza Poe's Death
Eliza Poe died in Richmond, Virginia. Eliza died from something that was easy to get called tuberculosis when Edgar was only 3 years old. While Eliza was on her death bed, David was having an affair with another women. Poe had been adopted by John and Frances Allan since Edgar's father abandoned his family. -
Poe Attends The University of Virginia
Edgar Allan Poe left Richmond to attend the University of Virginia. At the university, Poe excelled in his classes but came across some financial problems. Poe had a debt of 2,000 and tried to pay if off by gambling. This plan did not work so hhe left. -
"Temerlane" and the United States Army
When Poe leaves the University of Virginia, he writes his first book "Tarmerlane". Poe couldnt continue his life by himself so he attends the United States Army. A little later, Poe diod so good in the Army that he became sergeant major. -
Frances Allan's Death
When Poe had returned home, he experienced another tradegy. His foster mother, Frances Allan died from tuberculosis just as him birth mother did. Just for a little while, Edgar and Johyn Allan worked out their differences and developed a better relationship. Poe then goes to W3est Point and earned support from John. -
Poe and Virginia Get Married
Poe married his first cousin Virginia Eliza Clemm Poe. Poe was 27 years old and Virginia wasnt even 14 yet. Poe fell deeply in love with Virginia and referred to her as cousin, sister, and wifey. The two had a very loving and caring relationship. -
"The Raven"
Edgar Allan Poe writes "The Raven." The Raven is a narrative poem noted for its musicality, stylized language, and supernatural atmosphere. In response, the townspeople flapped their arms like a raven and hit Edgar's heels with sticks and ran away from him. Edgar loved this attention. Symbolically, Poe considered a parrot as a bird instead of a raven but because of the tone, he found the raven more suitable. -
Poe's Love Dies
Another Tradegy haunts Poe. His loving wife Virginia dies of tuberculosis at their home in the Bronx. All of the women he loved died of tuberculosis. Because of Virginia's death, Poe turns to alcohol. -

Poe was found unconcious in a Baltimore gutter. He was taken to a hospital and concluded dead of causes unknown. Poe was burried at Westminister Presbyterian Church in Baltimore.
