On January 19th, 1809 Edgar Allan Poe was born. -
1811
Poe's mother, Elizabeth dies. -
1820
He goes to school in the United States. -
1827
Poe drops out of school because he can't afford it. He writes his first book called "Tamerlane and other poems" and he joins the army. -
1829
Mrs. Allan dies and Poe returns home. He applies at West Point. -
1831
Edgar gets kicked out of West Point. -
1835
Edgar wins a contest and gets a job. -
1836
Poe marries his cousin, Virginia, she is 13 and he is 24. -
1845
Edgar Allan Poe writes his most famous work, "The Raven". -
1847
Poe's wife dies do to tuberculosis. -
1849
Edgar Allan Poe died October 7th, 1849.
