It was on this day, that famous singer Eric Clapton performed his iconic hit 'Layla' at the Queens Golden Jubilee. This event Sheeran credits with making him interested and wanting to pursue a career in music. -
Ed Releases His First Collection Of Single Records.
In 2004-2005, Sheeran ventured out into the music industry for the first time by releasing his own music records such as "Spinning Man" "The Orange Room EP" which contained 4 tracks such as "Addicted" "Misery" "Moody Ballad Of Ed". At this point he was not the best vocally when singing and through training became better. -
Ed Tries Out For TV
In 2008, A still relatively young 16 year old Sheeran, auditioned for a show called Britannia High. Which is abouta group of super-talented characters strive to reach their dreams at the school of said title. He dazzled everyone with his vocal abilities and could carry a tune but he lacked other skills which therefore led to him not being selected. He would then prove everyone wrong and become a global superstar. -
Ed's First Big Break.
Sheeran earnt his first big break with his song "You Need Me I Don't Need You." When founder of the music channel SBTV, the late Jamal Edwards put a video of Sheeran playing the song on his youtube music channel.This was how Atlantic Records and his manager Stuart Camp discovered Sheerans talents. Edwards and Sheeran's relationship would continue to grow and develop an unbreakable bond. Sheeran was devastated when the legendary Edwards died in February 2022 at the age of 31. -
Ed Signs With Asylum/Atlantic Records.
After he hit No.1 on the Itunes chart thanks to his song "The A Team", he was signed by Atlantic/Asylum records. Before his debut album "+" was released. -
Sheeran, Down Under For The First Time.
In 2011, a young ginger haired Sheeran came to Australia to promote his album +. Believe it or not, his first gig in Australia was in Collingwood of all places to a room of media outlets. He did the gig standing on top of a table. He played hits such as "The A Team" & "Lego House". With some other underrated tracks like "Small Bump" and "Show Me Love". It was also where he caught the eye of Michael Gudinski. -
Ed Performs "The A Team" On Later... With Jools Holland.
Ed then went on to perform his hit single "The A Team". It was first his first time performing on the show but he wasn't actually supposed to by chance one of the acts that was supposed to perform pulled up. Giving Sheeran a major chance to prove himself and prove himself he did. -

Ed then a couple years later went on to release his next successive album 'X'. It was a personal achievement for Sheeran because the hit catchy hit single "Sing" became the ginger haired singer-songwriters first ever number 1 single in the UK -

Sheeran also released the song 'Photograph' on his Multiply album. To me it is one of his best songs. It is very beautifully written and the music video is just so well done. Combining clips of Sheeran's childhood to show how amazing his rise to fame as well. -

As part of the 'X' World Tour. Sheeran performed at the legendary Wembley Stadium. In 2015, He did his first ever Wembley gigs. Becoming the first ever musician to perform solo at Wembley. Sheeran also cameoed in the widely popular series Game Of Thrones as a surprise birthday gift for famous Game Of Thrones actor Maisie Williams. Unfortunately Sheeran's cameo was not well received by fans. Who labelled it "distracting" but Sheeran enjoyed the experience -
Yesterday
Sheeran also dabbled in the world of acting. Appearing in Danny Boyle's Beatles film Yesterday alongside Himesh Patel and Lily James. He played a version of himself and asks the main character Jack to join him on a tour around the world. But his role is only minor. -
Ed's Marriage.
In January 2019, Sheeran married his wife Cherry Seaborn. The two went to the same school but were never really friends with each other but met up years later and became good friends which turned into a romantic relationship. -
Ed Releases A New Project.
Sheeran also released a unique album called The Collaborations Project, Where he created songs featuring a variety of artists such as Khalid, Justin Bieber, Ella Mai, Bruno Mars, Chris Stapleton and Camilla Cabello. -

In Suffolk, a 40 minute drive from Sheeran's hometown of Framlingham at Ipswich's Christchurch Mansion an exhibtion opened called "Ed Sheeran: Made In Suffolk" celebrating the end of the Divide World Tour and Sheeran's rise from schoolboy to one of the world's best singer-songwriters in history. -
Ed Sheeran Suffolk Music Foundation Is Launched
On December 23rd, 2019, Sheeran launched the Suffolk Music Foundation to help young musicians in his home town. He wanted to give back to the town in which he grew up in. The foundation gives out grants to aspiring musicians. Grants can be given out for musical studies, rehearsal spaces or buying an instrument and even more. -
Ed Becomes A Parent
In August 2020, Ed's wife Cherry gave birth to their first child Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. On the 20th of May 2022, Cherry again gave birth to their second daughter Jupiter. On his social media post for his second daughter he quoted “Last week, with the help of an amazing delivery team, Cherry gave birth to our beautiful and healthy daughter - Lyra Antarctica Seaborn Sheeran. We are completely in love with her. Both mum and baby are doing amazing. -
Sheeran Appears In Red Notice.
Sheeran's acting career has continued as well, with his most recent appearance being in Red Notice which stars Dwayne Johnson, Gal Gadot & Ryan Reynolds. The cameo was quite funny and made fun of Sheeran's GOT (Game Of Thrones) cameo. -
Tragedy.
Sadly, on the 2nd of March 2021, music mogul and Australian icon Michael Gudinski died in his sleep at the age of 68. He was a long time mentor of Ed Sheeran and helped him whenever he toured down under. Sheeran performed "Visiting Hours" at his state funeral. It wasn't long before one of Sheeran's mates the legendary cricketer Shane Warne died just over a year later. He said before performing at the icons state funeral that "Shane was an incredible human to me." -
Sheeran's Emotional Gu
Sheeran also performed at Michael Gudinski's state funeral. He performed moving renditions of "Castle On The Hill" and "The A Team." Before a beautifu and tearjerking performance of his song "Visiting Hours" which was written especially for Gudinski. Sheeran before starting the last verse briefly stopped and started to get emotional before trying to finish the last verse and sadly tearing up and walking off the stage. He also returned to do a rendition of "Locomotion" with Kylie Minogue. -

On October 29, 2021. Sheeran released his next album (Aside from Collaborations Project) called Subtract with the hit song "Bad Habits" being on top of the charts for 11 weeks. -
Ed & Elton Do A Duet.
Ed also releases his first Christmas song in 2021, alongside one of the most iconic musicians on the planet, Elton John. The song was simply titled "Merry Christmas". -
Ed Performs "Thinking Out Loud"

Sheeran, an avid Ipswich town soccer fan renewed his sponsorship with the team. The singers logo for his Mathematics tour would be on the Guernsey that he grew up supporting and watching as a child -
Sheeran pays tribute to Edwards.
In 2023, Sheeran premiered his new song written for his late friend Jamal Edwards. It was an emotional but deeply moving song. -
Ed's Biggest Show Ever
On the 3rd of March 2023, Sheeran dazzled fans as he performed to the biggest crowd of his career at the MCG. The concert was a special one for Sheeran as it was originally Michael Gudinski's idea to do a show at the MCG in the round. He also paid tribute to Shane Warne by dedicating his song the "The A Team". He belted out hits all night long including "Bad Habits" "Shape Of You" "Galway Girl" "Castle On The Hill" and "Thinking Out Loud". He also previously paid a visit to Gudinski's statue. -
Ed Sheeran Court Dilemma
The court case again against correlations between Gaye's "Let's Get It On" and Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud" were filed again. The case was filled with drama from Sheeran threatening to quit music, to him performing in front of the jury, the plaintiff also collapsed at one stage and was taken by ambulance, the plaintiff's party then used an AI rendition of "Let's Get It On" to show similarities between the case. Disney+ Documentary
In May this year, Sheeran opened up the doors into his personal life and in particular his wife's battle with cancer via a new docu-series. Named, The Sum Of It All. It was released on May 3rd. It tackles topics such as mental health and grief. -
