This act was put into place to prevent recession. It was first drafted by the House of Representatives and later the senate made a new draft. The United States Treasury establishes the Troubled asset relief program. This program purchases mortgage-backed securities that are in trouble. This act was a stimulus package from congress that proved for 787 billion dollars. This allowed for direct spending in infrastructure, education, health, and energy, federal tax incentives, and an increase of unemployment benefits. Hanjin Shipping bankruptcy causes turmoil in global sea freight.
In August of 2016 the Japanese Shipping company, Hanjin, went bankrupt. The freight boats were scheduled to dock in California, but when they received the call that their company went into bankruptcy they were not allowed to enter the ports.
