    Johann Amos Comenius was known for his innovations in methods of teaching, especially languages. This gave kids the opportunity to learn different languages from different countries.     John Locke was a english philosopher. His most famous works included an essay concerning human understanding. He really took time to understand the human brain and he would make theories about the brain and the understanding of humans. He had an impact in child education because he would develop and keep track of growth when kids are little till when they are older to see how much the brain progressed and grew from learning things and understanding different things and opportunities.

    Jean-Jacques Rousseau

    Jean-Jacques Rousseau minimized the importance of book learning, and recommended that a child's emotions should be educated before his reason. With this being put into place it helps kids understand the ability that your learning doesn't only come from reading a book, that there are other ways to learn you just have to figure out what works best for you. This has a impact on ECE because it helps kid realize that there are many ways to learn different things.

    Johann Henrich Pestalozzi

    Johann Henrich Pestalozzi is known as the father of modern education. In 1805 he opened up his own private school in switzerland. It was up and steadily running for about 20 years. This helped kids in ECE because it gave them a opportunity to get private education if that is what fit them the best and helped they get the learning that they need to get to become succesfull.

    Robert Owen

    Robert Owen was the first person to open the first infant school in Great Britain in 1816. Robert Owen was concerned about impoverished children and became an advocate of educating children outside the home. So he gave the opportunity for kids to learn outside of the home and with other kids his age. He impacted ECE because without him opening up this infant school kids in Great Britain wouldn't have the same opportunity as other kids around the world.

    Friedrich Wilhelm Froebel

    Friedrich Wilhelm Froebel was very known in ECE because he was the one that invented kindergarten. It really gave the base and start to kids education because kindergarten is one of the main first steps into education. It helps kids get a base of education and to help them start their learning education. This impacted ECE because without kindergarten kids would not know where to start and they wouldn't know the basics of education. For example adding and subtracting.

    Social Reform is a reshaping or reforming of culturally accepted laws and norms in light of new cultural paradigms that occur over time. An example would be in the ECE aspect is the idea that schooling for young children will lead to social change and improvement. This impacted ECE because it all starts with education because that is going to be the future of our lives. So with good education and knowledge we will have a good future career.

    German was the first country to have kindergarten. Kindergarten has gone through many social changes throughout the years. At first it was for poor students and then it went to be led by churches. The kindergarten we know today is the first grade that students enter when they go to school to help them become more independent and prepared for the following grades.

    Rudolf Steiner theory and passion was all about what the kids felt and how they were feeling. He made an education that would fit any kid with no matter where they were in education purposes. For example he supported the child’s spiritual, personal, social and moral development. This impacted ECE because it gave kids the opportunity to learn at different paces.

    Maria Montessori designed learning materials and a classroom environment that fostered the children's natural desire to learn and provided freedom for them to choose their own materials. This helped kids have a full range to get different materials to help them become successful.     A. Neill had a philosophy that Summerhill School operates upon the major principles of democracy, equality and freedom. He believed that everyone should get treated with respect in the education aspect. For example kids that don't learn very quickly or have learning disabilities should get the same amount of attention that a normal kid would get. This impacted ECE because it gave kids opportunities to learn the same way that everyone else is learning and to still get the same amount of attention

    Media and Technology sparked in the 1920s and it started off with a radio. As time went on in the 1930s an overhead projector was introduced to classrooms. Still to this day we have projectors but they have been advanced since then and better used today. This has impacted early childhood education because it gives students more opportunities to learn things online when they don't have it in the class room.

    A nursery school is the start of a child's education. This is where children go to learn the basics. For example the ABC'S and colors. This helps kids get a good start to education and a great way for them to learn the basics of learning.     Sputnik was the world's first artificial satellite and it was launched by the soviet union. This encouraged many students to pursue science and engineering and, most broadly, to help the US defeat the Soviets in the Space Race.     Standard Based Grading was invented in 1983. Standard based grading is a system that evaluates students' progress toward mastering specific learning targets called standards. This helps base kids off on how they are doing based off their grades on an assignment. This impacts ECE because it helps kids understand where they are at on the standard and it will help them know what they can do to improve.

    No child left behind is an act that president Bush signed in 2002. It regulated that grades kindergarten through 12th grade had to acknowledge and notice kids success and to demonstrate their success in terms of the academic achievement of every student.
