John Comenius
Comenius was born in 1952 in Nivnice, Noravia. Comenius was the author of the first picture book provided for children. This book was called Orbis Pictus. John believed that early experiences formed what a child would be like and also stated that education should occur through the senses. -

Jean was born on June 28th in Switzerland Jean is mostly remembered for his book Emile.. This book gave him political views. He encouraged growth without any restrictions. He also believed in the idea of unfolding. -

Pestalozzi was born on January 12 1946 in Zurich. Pestalozzi believed that education was based upon sensory impressions. These sensory impressions would allow people to achieve their natural potential. Pestalozzi then bcam an authour of two books. -
Robert Owen
Born on May 14th in Newtowrn. Justified that childrens beliefs. behaviors, and achievements were based off of childrens enviornments. He also believed that the enviornment would shape childrens character. In 1816, Owen opened an infant school to provide care for children while parents worked in cotton mills. -
Friedrich Wilhelm Froebel
Froebel was born on April 21st in Oberweissbach. Froebel is known as the father of kindegarten. Froebel is also another who believed in the idea of unfolding> Froebels focus was to enable children to learn what they are ready to learn and when to learn it. -
Maria Montessori
Maria was born on August 31st in Chiaravalle. Maria believed that prepared enviornments are essential for learning and that respect is the foundation of teaching. Like Johann, Maria also believed in sensory materials. All of the childrens knowledge comes from sensory experiences. -

urie bronfenbrenner is a Russian Psychologist born on April 29th, 1917. Urie believed that development is influenced by enviornments. During this time, the Five Interrelating Systems were created. These five are microsystem, mesosystem, macrosystem, exosystem, and chronosystem. These five systems had a huge impact on childrens deve lopment.
