Earth History

  • 4540 BCE

    Planetary Accretion

gravity pulls heavy elements together which created the earth.Dense material sank to the center, while the lighter material created the crust. Gravity captured some of the gases that made up the planet's early atmosphere.
  • 4500 BCE

    Formation of the Moon

Earth suffered an impact by a large body that catapulted pieces of the young planet's mantle into space. Gravity caused many of these pieces to draw together and form the moon.
  • 4400 BCE

    Core Formation

The heavy materials sunk into the center of the earth and because of the heat, it turns in to the early core.
  • 4100 BCE

    Planetary Cooling

By 4.1 billion years ago, is when Earth became stable enough to have a rocky terrain, clouds, and enough rainwater to form oceans. It was once step closer to what Earth is today.
  • 3800 BCE

    End of Heavy Bombardment

The space objects that hits earth carried water and created the ocean.
