Australopithecus Afarenis/ southern ape
The earlyiest hominid species were the Australopithecus Afarensis. They roamed the Earth from 4 million BCE to 3 million BCE. Their remains were found in Africa where scientists beileve where they originated. They are to be belived as 3 feet tall as their average height. There skeleton's show that they had a large forehead and a portruding jaw. Although archeologists found a lot of skeletons, they did not find any tools. These people could communicate with each other and walk on two feet. -
Homo Habilis
The second group was the Homo Habilis. They lived from 2 million BCE to 1.5 million BCE. They too had lived in Africa except these people were 4 feet talland had human and ape features. Scientists have found tools such as chopping rocks and sharp cutting stones. These people could walk on two feet, communicate, make tools, and could collect or gather food. -
Homo Erectus
The Homo Erectus was another hominid species that stayed alive through1.8 million BCE to 20,000 BCE. But these people had migrated to Africa, Asia, and Europe. Homo Erectus were about 5 1/2 feet tall and they had rounded skulls. The tools found were mostly stone axes and hunting traps. They were able to craft weapons and tools and they used the power of the fire to cook and keep warm. -
Homo Sapiens Neanderthalenis
The Homo Sapiens Neanderthalenis lived on Earth from 230,000 to 30,000 BCE. They lived in Africa,east Europe, and some parts of Asia. Their average hieght was 5 feet tall and they were short and stocky. They made and used knives, scrapers, and spear points. This species made tools and worked together. -
Homo Sapiens Sapiens
The Homo Sapiens Sapiens were alive from 35,000 to 12,000 BCE. They migrated to Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia, and North and South America. They were 6 feet tall and they had slender bones and rounded skulls. They used hooks, spears, knives, and the bow and arrow. THey could make a wide variety of tools and they could paint their feelings and expressions.
