    The Constitution was officially approved by the required number of states. It laid out the design for the government which balanced power between federal and state powers. This also included the Bill of Rights. All Together it marked the start of the US development in democracy.

    This was a law passed by Congress. It established the federal court system and explained the structure of the judiciary system. This act also made the Supreme Court as well as federal courts and explained their responsibilities aswell.

    He was the first president of the US. He established many new rules for the nation such as the two-term limit for presidents. He set the stage for future leaders.

    This was when American diplomats were sent to France to negotiate peace but ended up being bribed by French agents. This led to a crisis between the US and France which caused an undeclared naval war. This affair influenced American foreign policy.

    This aimed to make it harder for immigrants to become citizens. It let the President deport any noncitizens who were considered dangerous.

    This was an undeclared naval conflict between the US and France. It happened because of the XYZ affair and it was fought mostly overseas. However, it ended with the signing of the convention of 1800 which normalized the relationship between the two countries.

    Thomas Jefferson was the third president of the US. He helped to lead the Louisiana Purchase and emphasized his ideas on limited government.

    This was when the US bought a large amount of land from France which went from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains. This purchase increased the size of the country and gave new opportunities for Western expansion.

    This was a conflict between the US and Britain that created American independence. A major event in this war was the burning of Washington D.C. It ended with the Treaty of Ghent which established pride and unity in the US.

    This Doctrine stated that no European countries could interfere with the Americas. They did this to show that they wanted nothing to do with Europe.
