  • Anschluss

    Anschluss
    Hitler threatened to invade Austria unless they were given important government posts.Then Hitler sent his troops into Anschluss to unify Austria and Germany.
  • The Munich Conference

    The Munich Conference
    Hitler wanted Germany to take over Sudetenland so to avoid going to war with France, Britain, or the Soviet Union they held a conference. When representatives of Britian, France, Italy and Germany agreed to meet in Munich to decide the fate of Czechoslovakia, this became known as the Munich Conference. France and Britain agreed to make concessions in exchange for peace, but the appeasement failed. Then Hitler sent troops into Czechoslovakia where Germany took control of the country.

    Hitler Demands Danzig
    Hitler wanted the city of Danzing to be in Germanyś control and a railroad to cross the Polish corridor. Poland refused to give up their land to Germany because they would have Britain and France on their side. Hitler builds up his army to invade Poland on May 12, 1939 and begins negotiating with the USSR

    The Nazi-Soviet Pact
    A treaty signed by Germany and the USSR to keep them safe. It turned the capitalist nations against each other. Planned for Germany to go to war with Britain and France. Treaty secrety planned on dividing Poland with Germany and the Soviet Union.
  • The Invasion of Poland

    The Invasion of Poland
    Germany invades Poland and for doing so Britain and France declare war on Germany creating WWII. Luckily Germany better equipped for battle as they had developed their own style of fighting (lighting war warfare). They had a large number of tanks and aircrafts dropping bomb on emeny position. On 10/5/1939 Germany took over Poland.
  • The Fall of France

    The Fall of France
    The French and the British waited in France for Germany to attack them. This allowed Germany to focus on Poland. Germany went around Maginot Line and invaded Netherlands, Beligium, and Luxembourg. Germany went through french lines while the British and French armies were still in Belgium and trapped there.
  • The Miracle at Dunkirk

    The Miracle at Dunkirk
    Germany and France needed to evacuat their surving troops. 850 ships went from Dunkirk to England. 338,000 British and French troops were rescued (Miracle of Dunkirk). Most of the British army's equipment was still in Dunkirk so Hitler had a chance to invade Britain while they were vulnerable.
  • The Battle of Britain

    The Battle of Britain
    Knowing Britain would not surrender Hitler prepared his forces to invade Britain. In August of 1940 Germany brought in their "Luftwaffe" to and battled to destroy the British Royal Air Force. On August 23 Germany accidently bombed London so they responded by bombing Berlin. Hitler was mad about this so terrorized Britain into surrendering. On Otober 12 1940 Britain cancelled the invaion of Britain.
