  • The Austrarian Anschluss

    The Austrarian Anschluss
    IN March of 1938, Hitler threatened to invade the German-speaking Austria. The only reason they would not woriuld ben if the Austrarian Nazis were given any significant gevernemnt posts to be in control of. With this option, the chancellor fed into the demand, but tried to change the unification. The name Anschluss came from this situsation, when Hitler sent troops to Austria and announced unification between Austria and Germany.

    The Munich Conference
    The Munich conference began when Britian, France, Italy, and Germany came tog4ether to meet in Munich to decided together whethger Czechoslovakia would be held under Germany's command. France threatened to fight Germany if they attacked them. In result Czechoslovakia was told they had two choices; either to fight Gernmany or give them Sudetenland. After the faliure of the apeasement , Germany sent troops into Czech and completely divided the country. Slovakia is now it's own country.

    Hitler Demands Danzig
    After the Munich conference , Hitler commanded Danzig to return to German control. Danzig is part of Poland since World War I , although it is 90% German. Britian and France got into the situation of Hitler's demands. Britian stated that if Poland went to defend it's rerritory, France and them would come to aid. They were convinced to decline Hitler's demand. Hitler gathered an army to invade, and sent out USSR to bnegotiate with his foregin minister. Hitler did NOT want to include the Soviets.

    In 1939 the German official proposed an nonagression treaty. This was due tpo the fact the Germans wanted USSR on their side in order to keep them safe if Germany , Britian, and France went to war. The pact was conjoined by Communist and Nazist. In the Nazi-Soviet pact there was a hidden passage that stated the secret deal to divided. This resulted in what is now known as WWII.

    In September, Germany invaded Poland. And soon enough Britian and France declared war on Germany, beginning WWII. Ponland's army was oudated. They rode on horses and carried lances. But Germany had a new creative type of warfare calle blizkrieg Germany defeated the Polish Army.

    The Fall of France
    Western Europe didnt want anything to do with the Germans after the war in Poland. To keep the Germans out of France , they put up a Maginot Line along the German Border. Hitler was smart enough to think to go around to France's border with Belgium. When doing so he had to invade the Netherlands, Belium, and Luxembourg. He charged through France leaving the British and the French running for Belguim. The Germans smashed through the French lines. The French and British were trapped in Belgium.

    The Evacuation of Dunkirk
    The Allied forces were trapped in Belgium,leaving the Germans to go to the English Channel. The only thing Britian and France should do is evacuate by sea. Dunkirk was the only to not get captured by the Germans. But Hitler did not want to advance to close in on Dunkirk. He provided a 3 day delay giving the British time to evacuate to Dunkirk where it was safe. This ended on June 4th,with about 338,000 troops saved.The French surrendered after noticing they had no weapons after arriving.End WWII

    Hitler commanded his troops to attack after quickly realizing that Britain had no pans of surrendering. In the summer of 1940, the Luftwaffe, Germany's Air Force, set their sites on the English channel where most of Britain's shipping took place.
