    The Munich Conference happened because of a long period of negotiation. Hitler said that German claims the sudetenland, a large german speaking population. Britian, France, Italy, and German all agreed to meet in Munich to decide the fate of Czechoslovakia. The appeasment came about when Britian and France had agreed to Hitler's policies.

    Hitler demand Danzig to return to be under German control.He requested a railroad and highway across the Polish Corridor. His new demands had convinced Britian and France that a war was inevitable. If Poland declared war Britian and France would help them. Due to this Poland rejected Hitlers commands and Hitler ordered the German army to prepare to invade Poland.

    Germany invaded Poland on the first day of September. Britain and France then declared war on Gemany. Poland had resisted Gemany onslaught but they had an outdated army. They had a rode horses and carried lances. The Germans had developed a new kind of warfare called the blitzkrieg. On September 21 the polish capital fell to the Germans.     If the USSR agreed to sign the treaty it would keep the USSR safe if Germany was to go to war with Britian and France. Hitler believed if he turned the capitalist countries against each other was the only way to protect the USSR. When the USSR signed with Germany the world was shocked because Communism and Nazism are totally opposites

    The Evacuation of Dunkirk
    The Germans had invaded all but one port named Dunkirk. The only hope that Britain and France had was to evacuate the troops that are left by sea. As the Germans began to close in on port Dunkirk Hitler told them to stop. His demand gave a three day delay and Britain was able to strengthen their lines and start to evacuate
  • The Battle of Britain

    The Battle of Britain
    Germany realized that Britain would not surrender. So Hitler order his troops to invade. In June the German Air Force began to attack British shipping. Then launched an all air battle in mid August to get rid of the Royal Air Force.

    Hitler invaded France and the lower countries. The French built a line of concrete bunkers after WWI and called it the Maginot Line. Due to the Maginot Line Germany was able to invade Poland first. The Germans went around the Maginot Line
