Myrrh: The gift that keeps on giving.
One of three of the gifts given to Christ, Myrrh was widely used during Christian times for it's anti-inflammatory properties as well as anti-fungal, and anti-bacterial uses. It was also used to improve circulation and reduce fevers. -

Annointing
Annointing with perfumed oils, (this was done with infusion of herbs and flowers with olive oil, for example), was used as a type of aroma therapy to relieve coughs and it was also used to soften wounds and cuts as the were in the healing process. It was also used for spiritual healing.
