    Rousseau promotes the idea that adults and children are different, and that children need more care. He also promoted hands on learning for children.
  • First public kindergarten started in St. Louis

    Founded by Susan Blow, the first public kindergarten was opened in her town, St. Louis. By the time Blow died in 1916, over 400 public kindergartens were open.
