The Pilgrims needed a better way to worship because the king was cruel to them. So they went to Leiden. They lived in Leiden for a little bit but their kids were acting like the people in Leiden not the pilgrims. They bought a boat called the Mayflower and left Leiden. They traveled for nine weeks to get to America. Many had died on the way from sea sickness and other diseases. -
Salem witchcraft trials
Witchcraft trials mostly took place in Salem. They would do a test to see if it was a witch. Over 200 were killed during the Witchcraft trials. -

In the French and Indian War the British and the French fought for land in the Ohio River Valley. Each thought they owned the land. As a result of the British victory in the French and Indian War, France was kicked out of America. -
The Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was not a normal tea party, but in fact The Boston Tea Party wasn't even a tea party. The Boston Tea Party was a protest by the SOL (Sons of Liberty) where they snuck onto a ship with a lot of tea on it. The SOL threw the tea in the water but tried not to damage anything but the tea. In fact the only thing they damaged was a padlock, but later snuck back on and put a new padlock on. The SOL came in the water in boats and with their oars pushed the tea under water so it sank. -

The Declaration of Independence was made in Philadelphia by Thomas Jefferson, Roger Sherman, Robert Livingston, Benjamin Franklin, and John Adams. The Declaration of Independence was made to explain to foreign nations why the colonies had chosen to separate themselves from Great Britain. 56 people signed The Declaration of Independence and the first person was John Hancock of Massachusetts. -

The Battle of Trenton took place after Christmas. In fact the day after Christmas, George Washington and his army crossed the Delaware river. Only two Americans died in battle against the Hessians, but many Americans died from diseases and the cold weather. -

During the battle of Saratoga the British won the first round. The time between round one and round two was two and a half weeks long. During that two and a half weeks the Americans got stronger and the British got weaker. -

The Siege of Yorktown technically ended the fighting in the American Revolution. The Siege of Yorktown was a land and sea battle. The Americans and the French fought the British. -
