    A Crusade is a series of military expeditions to the Middle East in the name of christianity. It resulted in two consequences that encouraged European exploration and expantion. The result of the spread of Christanity and Islam caused conflict in the begining of the Crusades.

    Columbas reaches America

    Columbas reaches America
    Columbas was trying to find a shorter route to India and came across America. He put the Spanish flag there for Spain. Because this event happened it caused more colonies to come.

    Imposed a taxs on documents and printed items such as wills, newspaper, and playing cards.A stamp would be placed on the items to prove that the tax had been paid. It was a leading cause in the Boston Tea Party.

    The Boston Tea Party was a political protest againt the tax policy of the British goverment and the East India company. The "indans" dumped 18000 pounds of tea into the Boston harbor.

    Since George Washington was known as being a hero of the Revolution, he was elected president on April 4th, 1789. As George Washington came to office he took the daunting task to create a new government.

    The French revolutionaries stormed into the Bastille causing the French Revolution to occur. The French Revolution ended French monarchy and brought hope for a government based on the will of the people.

    In 1803, Napoleon sold the Louisiana Territory to the US. The Louisiana Purchase more than doubled the size of the United States. Explorers set off to examine the newly purchase territory and brought back valuable information about the West and showed that transcontinental travel was possible.

    The reform movements fed the growth of the women's movement by providing women with increased opportunities to act outside the home. As abolitionists intensified their attacks, proslavery advocates strengthened their defenses. The issue of slavery threatened to destroy the Union.

    Shortly after the nation's Southern states seceded from the Union, war began between the North and South. The nation;s identity was forged in part of the civil war. Sectional divisions remain very strong today.
  • Lincoln was assassinated

    Lincoln was assassinated
    Lincoln and his wife wen to Ford's Theatre in Washington. During the third act, a man came up behind Lincoln and shot him in the head. John Wilkes Booth then jumped down from the presidential box and escaped.
