    The Election of 1800 was between Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. The election went from October 31, 1800 to December 3, 1800. Thomas Jefferson had tied with his running mate Aaron Burr. The House of Reps took a vote and Jefferson won.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    Napoleon had given up on his dreams of an American Empire. He needed money to fight European wars. Thomas Jefferson offered him $15,000,000 and he accepted it.
  • James Madison Elected President

    James Madison had beat Charles Pickney in 1808. He was inaugurated in 1809. James Madison is known as the "Father of the Constitution."

    James Madison was president during the war. It was caused because of the British impressment of Americans. During the war, the British had burned the White House in 1814.
