Reginald Denny invents the Radio plane which was a radio-controlled target plane. Denny was responsible for lots of drone technology innovations when he was producing them to the military. -
BQ-7
The beginning of the first FPV system for drones, which means First Person View. Old bombers were filled with explosions and stripped of non-essential equipment. The human pilot would fly towards the target and then jump out leaving the BQ-7 to fly the rest of the way on its own. -
The Mastiff and the IAA Scout
Israel Develops UAVs that were used for surveillance and scouting. They built a series of these drones and were able to make leaps in the drones capabilities. -
The RQ2 Pioneer Drone
One of the most successful UAV platforms to date that was jointly developed by the U.S. and Israel. This UAV had significant payload improvements as well as a system upgrade. Even a Pioneer UAV made some Iraqi forces surrender. -
The Predator Drone
With the help of Abraham Karem, the U.S. was able to develop the Predator Drone. This brought weaponized drones to the battlefield like no other and probably more than any other UAVs. -
UAVs were allowed to be near US civilians for the first time.
The FAA allowed UAVs to fly in and search for people after the destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina. -

This drone is number 1 for the best combat drones in the world. It can carry multiple sensor payloads and its weapons include Hellfire missiles, guided bomb unit, etc. -
DJI Phantom 1
Dji's first consumer drone released. The drone included an internal gps system for stable, reliable flights. This made piloting easier and safer. This drone only had a flight time of less than 10 minutes and no camera. -

With DJI's huge success they had continued to extend their reach into the commercial market. The Matrice 200 series has the ingenuity and innovation DJI was consistently striving for. The drone has a full range of up to 7km and up to 35 minutes of flight time. -
