Drake Meets Jimmy
Fast forward 15 years later after his parents divorcing at the age of 5, Drake became apart of the acting scene. Drake would land a role in the drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation as Jimmy Brooks. Drake often accounts for his acting role as the main source of income for his sick mother and himself. Drake appeared on Degrassi for a total of 145 episodes. -
Room For Improvement
Drake released his first mixtape, which featured artist Trey Songz and producer Pharrell. The mixtape was said to have sold 6,000 copies. Drake described the mixtape as, "pretty straightforward, radio-friendly, not much content to it." -
Mixtape number 2
After some motivation from his first mixtape, Drake released another one called " Comeback Season." Drake was even able to gain the feature of Kanye West as a producer. As a result of the mixtape, Drake broke a record of the first unsigned Canadian rapper to have their music video on Black Entertainment Television (BET). -
Start of a Beautiful Friendship
This was the first encounter that Drake had with famous rapper Lil Wayne. This moment would become very important, as it would serve as the beginning of Drake's rise to success. -
The Tape to Change Everything
Drake released his third mixtape "So Far Gone." The mixtape included artists such as Lil Wayne and Omarion. The tape received so much success it was released as an EP. The project was called, " The Hottest Mixtape of 2009," by MTV. -
Signing Day
Drake was signed to a $2 million dollar contract with the record label Young Money. -
Thank Me Later
Drake's debut album Thank Me Later sold 447,000 copies in its first week. The album was number 1 on the Billboard 100. -
Take Care
Said to be one of Drake's best albums, Take care sold 631,000 copies in the first week of release. His single from this project, 'The Motto' , is known to have created the trend of the phrase YOLO. -

Drake and producer/ good friend Noah "40" Shebib established the record label OVO Sound, home to eight artists and six producers. -

Drake vs. Meek Mill
Drake and Meek Mill were known to have beef after rapper Meek Mill called out Drake on twitter for having a ghostwriter. The whole situation caused for the two rappers to create tracks dissing one another. Drake is said to have won the battle and causing rapper Meek Mill to, "take an L." -
Views From the Six
Drake releases one of his most successful albums, ' Views', which sold 852,000 copies in the first week. The album was so successful that was streamed one billion times on the streaming service Apple Music. -

Scary Hours
In the earlier parts of 2018 Drake release an EP with two tracks, Diplomatic Immunity and God's Plan to give a heads up to fans that he is back with new music. The song God's Plan has since blown up and is very popular amongst the youth. -
