    June,4 1942 the Battle of Midway took place An American naval base and losing it would force American defenses back to the California cost. Admiral Chester Nimitz knew about the Japanese plan to attack and was able to warn the Americans in enough time for them to prepare. The Admiral concentrated his forces at Midway in order to protect the base. This was the most important battle of World War 2 and helped the Americans gain a good foot hold in the pacific. I choose this because I like battles.
