The term DMC was coined by Phil Lee, to describe the role they played as local logistics experts.
Many companies added custom parties and themed events. -
Coming of age
The DMCs flourished and expanding the role in the meeting convention, and incentive travel industry.
Regional and national DMC had emerged. -
Recession
More companies were competing for fewer dollars. Organization were forced to cut their meeting budgets. -
Consolidation
We witnessed for the first time aggressive expansion. Lot of companies were competing for fewer dollars. -
Financial Crisis
It was the biggest economic crisis before the pandemic in 2020 -
Globalization
The meetings become more complex, and more difficult for corporations to manage multiple suppliers across the country.
Clients prefer to work with local DMCs.
