There were reports of a million protestors outside of parliament on October 19, 2019. The age range was massive and many came because of what they saw on Facebook and Twitter. -
George Floyd Protests
Following the death of George Floyd at the hands of police, social media was used to distribute footage and information and to organize protests all around the country. Some of these are still ongoing. -
2021 Attack on the Capitol
Facebook, Reddit, and Twitter were heavily used to organize and stoke the fires that led to the attack on the capitol. While there has been some disagreement as to the specific organization of the event, it's clear that it was instigated and influenced by the posts that led up to its reality.
