    On February 14, 2018, there was a mass shooting at Stoneman Douglas High School. This led to a lot of online posts and protest against guns and to increase security within schools. Over the course of February 2018 and into March there were walkouts scheduled at schools by students through the use of social media.

    Another tragic shooting at an elementary school in May 2022 came with more social media rage and protest. This time the protest was even stronger for the ban of automatic weapons, and stricter gun laws in general for the state of Texas.
