The dress was spread across Facebook and Twitter sparking the argument, is it black and blue? or white and gold? This upset had really no greater impact but it was viral. People didn't know what to believe or think! I was a lucky person that can see both but many people still can not figure out how one can see the other color. -
Harambe
The cincinnati zoo gorilla was killed over the safety of a little boy. The controversy was sparked after a video posted on facebook went viral of a little boy in the gorilla pen. The boy had fallen into the pen and Harambe began almost playing with the boy, he was getting agrivated and agressive so in the best interest of the little boy the zoo shot and killed the gorrilla. The mother and the zoo took a lot of heat and even years later everyone knows Harambe's name. -
Trumps Tweet's
Trump recklessly tweeted about the Obama administration claiming they were wiretapping him. This sparked a social media fire questioning the Obama administration and the former president's character. They were proven false and the world moved on. -
#MeToo
The me too movement was started with a tweet and just about every other social media platform was used to share the message behind those two little words. The movement brought awareness to sexual assult and the shockingly common occurance in our society. -
Facebook Scandal
Facebook users learned their data was being sold to third parties. Many people took to Twitter to join the conversation and many deleted their Facebook accounts.
