    The March For Our Lives movement is one started by those affected by the Parkland High School shooting that occurred in 2018 on Valentine's Day. This movement mostly utilized Instagram, because at the time, it was the most utilized app. The March For Our Lives is led by students to promote gun control and change in gun laws. One of the most effective tactics that March For Our Lives used was their hashtag #MarchForOurLives to bring attention to all photos and protests.
  • Covid-19: Anti-Mask

    Covid-19: Anti-Mask
    Along with Covid-19, there were two very prominent movements: Pro-Mask and Anti-Mask. The Anti-Mask movement was promoted mostly using Facebook because those who fall under the misinformed and the age group of older and middle-aged Republicans utilize that platform the most. The movement utilized misinformation and the fact that those who see that misinformation would most likely not seek information elsewhere. They also used prominent politicians like Donald Trump to promote the movement.
  • Don't Say Gay

    Don't Say Gay
    In 2022, Florida announced its "Don't Say Gay" bill preventing the discussion of sexual orientation and gender identity. TikTok as the biggest platform used in this movement. Students who are personally effected by this bill went to TikTok to share the reality and share the facts behind the bill. They shared their stories and experiences. TikTok is a great place for story telling, and this movement utilized such a platform to gain traction on the issue.
  • Roe V. Wade Overturned

    Roe V. Wade Overturned
    In 2022, Roe V. Wade was overturned. This movement utilized many platforms because each side is so diverse. For older and middle-aged Republicans, Facebook was utilized extensively. With the younger generation, both political sides utilized TikTok. TikTok allowed sides to be shared like never before, especially from our youth. Social Media in this case was utilized to promote both sides by allowing the sharing of stories, stats, and experiences.
  • Israel-Hamas War

    Israel-Hamas War
    The Israel-Hamas War is an ongoing conflict that has utilized many platforms including Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. Instagram has been used to spread stats and infographics, while Facebook has done the same for an older audience. TikTok has been utilized in war like never before by live streaming the fighting, survivors sharing their stories, and those who do not live there yet identify with the religion and countries involved can be involved in the war that they personally don't fight in.
