    Fires in Australia
    Early on in 2020, people began to share images and videos of the vast damage being caused by bushfires in Australia. The world community banned together to help.     In March of 2020, the physical world pretty much shut down, and people took to posting information on social media. On every social media platform, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, TikTok, and YouTube, people were posting about/discussing the global COVID-19 pandemic.     The #hateisavirus movement is in relation to a rise in hate crimes against those of Asian descent. These crimes have been rising because of the COVID-19 pandemic. #hateisavirus is used on social media sites like Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube, in order to raise awareness about hate crimes against Asians and to take a stand against them.
