    2016- Harambe
In 2016, the killing of a gorilla named Harambe was the kick start to many popular memes of 2016. This was all everyone was talking about during my sophomore year of high school and people still reference it today. It was interesting to see how everyone teamed up for an animal they didn't know at all. Even though the older generations may not understand the meaning of this gorilla, this gorilla brought a generation together and created the pathways all the memes that were created that year.

    2019- Bye Sister
In 2019, two popular beauty YouTubers started an online feud. This back and forth went on for two years before everything was settled. James Charles lost almost a million followers in one day. Tati Westbrooke has deleted this video but drama channels have reposted it. This video was forty minute long that include text conversation screenshots, voice memos, and more. This all started due to James doing a brand deal on Instagram for Sugar Bear Hair, a competitor for Tati's brand.

People started making things regarding masks and social distancing. Now we are kind of back to what 2020 started as but we are still adjusting.

    2020- Biden VS Trump
In the 2020 Presidential Election both parties were using Twitter to talk about the other. Trump made some accusations and ended being banned from Twitter after he posted some rude tweets. Similar to Clinton VS Trump everything was all over social media.

2022- Johnny Depp and Amber Heard
This divorce case took weeks to drawl a conclusion and everyone was seeing everything. There was a live stream of the trial on multiple social media platforms and nothing was being hidden from the public. Many people saw the lies that Amber was telling and people starting to dissect her body language. Depp lost many of his endorsements due to the fake claims and now Heard made little money off the case.
