  • Birth of Discordianism

    Created by two school friends, Hill and Thorney, as a satire religion towards the goddess Eris of Greek mythology.
  • Growth of Discordianism

    Hill and Thorney published "Principia Discordia" and allowed more people knowledge of the phony religion, so it rose to popularity. Enough popularity that allowed many magazine companies to find interest in it. This book would be referred to as the holy book of the religion.
  • Sacred Chao Symbol

    Sacred Chao Symbol
    Greg Hill, the initial founder of the religion developed this symbol for their new founded religion. The apple represents the famous story of the Goddess Eris, who the religion is based on.
  • Illuminatus

    Many readers found themselves deeply intrigued and confused by this new religion. As many researched and dove into the religion, other books began to be published, by those following this new religion. Such as "Illuminatus!", published by Wilson and Shae of Playboy magazine. This was feared by many to read, and wasn't published in whole until 4 years later.
  • The Cosmic Trigger

    After publishing and seeing the success of "Illuminatus!", Wilson decided to write and publish another book titled "The Cosmic Trigger." This would further be adapted into plays and re-imagined. These books he created both had the purpose of "re-wiring" people's brain and altering their beliefs, as it had done for Wilson.

    Several Discordianism books published

    None specifically remarkable to the growth of Discordianism, but many helped in the growth of the religion. Including "Zen Without Zen Masters", "Zenarchy", "Summa Universalia", "Principia Entropius", and "Apocrypha Discordia", as some of the most important ones.
  • Parody Religion or Real Religion?

    After this had grown so popular in the US, people began to be offended when it was referred to as a parody religion on the Yahoo website. This caused many to send in emails, as they believed it should be classified as a real religion.
  • Higgs' The KLF

    As many others, Higgs was deeply inspired and resonated with the books he had read about Discordianism. Leading him to add his own take on the KLF where he discusses his beliefs. It tried to give reason to many things, using Discordianism as a reason as to why things are the way they are.
  • Historia Discordia

    This book was published of all of Discordianism's history to inform new believers. This was due to the rapid progression of believers and lack of previous copies.
