    The case of Roberto Alvarez vs. the Board of Trustees of the Lemon Grove School District was also known as the Lemon Grove Incident". It was the first school desegregation court decision in United States history. A group of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans and their children won against school segregation and the notion of separate but equal facilities.It was the nation's first recognized court-ordered school desegregation case.
