On this date broadband was introduced to the world. It may have been much slower than the internet we have today. But this was a breakthrough, being able to access information and send emails from computer to computer was absolutely amazing, and paved the way for search engines such as Google, and information archives such as wikipedia. -
Google
Google was created in 1996, this would later be known as the largest search engine in the world. A search engine that when used, searches the entirety of the internet for the key words you typed in, and shows the most popular results first. -
DVD
In 1996 DVD's were released in Japan. Even though I was too young to know what these were at the time, I was maybe around 6 years old when I finally watched a DVD. DVD's were used in my primary school in order to view certain educational texts, even movies. -
Youtube
In 2005 Youtube was created, a website used to share videos with other people from around the world. This was amazingly popular, and thus people started to share documentaries, and even educational videos.
