Dights Falls was created in the 1840s by John Dight. John Dight used Dights Falls for his flour mill. John Dight created the first water powered flour mill. -
Abandoned Mill
The Dight family abandoned there Mill in 1864. -
The abondened Mill was bought
The mill was bought by a man named Edwin Trennery. He subdivided the grounds. -
The Mill was Bought
Flour millers Gillespie, Aitken and Scott bought the abandened Mill. They named their mill Yarra Falls Flour Mills. -
The Mill was rebuilt and sold.
After the mill was bought it was fixed and built up again. Then in 1891 in was sold. -
The mill is destroyed
In 1909 the mill was changed hands for the final time. Until finally the mill was destroyed in a fire. You can still see the ruins today, -
