Fascist leader of Italy and Prime Minister who preached extreme nationalism. He was in axis powers with Germany and Japan. -
JOSEPH STALIN
After Lenin's death Stalin won over the communist party and became the new leader of the Soviet Union. -

The Japanese seized Manchuria for its valuable resources like coal and iron. -

Comes into power of Germany. Formed his own brand of fascism known as Nazism. Anti-Communist. -
Germany Moves Troops into Rhineland
The first act of Germany violating the Treaty of Versailles. German troops move into the Rhineland, which borders France and Belgium. -
German Annexation of Austria

Hitler Claims the Sudetenland
Germany annexed Austria which was also a violation of the Treaty of Versailles. Eventhough Britain and France had signed treaties to protect Czechoslovakia, Germany still claimed the Sudetenland. -
The Munich Conference
Hitler invites leaders from Britain and France to Germany to assure them they want no more territory. Neville Chamberline and Winston Churchill helped make the decision of Appeasement for their countries. -

Even after the Munich Conference where Hitler told Britain and France he wanted no more territory after invading a part of Czechslovakia, he still invaded the rest of it anyway. -

The Bombing of Pearl Harbor
Japan attacks the US Pacific Fleet, air Force base and army base in Oahu, Hawaii. There were over 2,000 killed and 1,700 injured during Pearl Harbor but there was a brave cook aboard one of the ships, Doris Miller, who shot down 4 Japanese planes by himself. -
