Building a close relationship with my step dad. My step dad is happy to have me in his life.

I was pretty close to my uncle, his death brought me many tears. My mom helped me coped with the loss. She didn't expect me to go to school on the day of his funeral. Social/political events: Mars Odyssey is launched.

Both of my parents were very proud of me for completing high school. I felt grateful to have both of my parents (mom & my step dad) on my graduation day. Social/political events: U.S. financial crisis.

The break up with my boyfriend greatly impacted my grade for fall 2011. He was very important to me during this significant period. My mom expected much more of me than the grades I got for this semester. Social/political events: The United States ends its, "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

A very low point in my life; struggles with my break up, religion views and with depression and anxiety. My counselor was a great significant person in this period of my life. I gain better perspective and coping skills in my counseling sections During this time my mom had no idea that I wasn't doing so well or that I was seeing a counselor. Parents expecting too much out of me.

I have finally found a great organization in which to start volunteering with.Learning a lot from my volunteer coordinator. My mom continued to be proud of me, even with my past struggles.

After a rough sophomore year, I decided my junior year was going to be much better. This year I had great teachers and peers. My mom was very glad that I was back to my normal self and giving 100% to my studies. Newtown Connecticut Sandy Hook Elementary shooting event on December 14, people cannot believe this tragedy has occurred.
