In the 1700’s, German immigrants made the buggy known as the Conestoga Wagon to transport goods across rough terrain. -
Barouche (Carriage)
In 1760, the Barouche, also known as the carriage, was an enclosed buggy that was mostly used by the wealthy. It was known for its fashion and faced backwards. -

In the 18th century, the Stagecoach buggy was the main form of transportation. It ran on a schedule just like our buses today. It had 4 seats and 4-8 horses. -
Hansom Cab
In 1834, the Hansom Cab was made and was one of the most popular types of buggies. -

In 1880, the Phaeton was created as a four-wheel cart that made it, so it wasn’t a rough ride and was one of the last carriages ever made. -

Around 1910, the horses and buggies were replaced by automobiles because they realized that the cars could travel further, and they won’t have a lot of maintenance.
