Beginning Of Infancy
In the early stages of infancy, infants' brains face the first stage of infantile brain development.
Infants' brains develop trust with their caregivers based on how well their needs are satisfied.
The main area of the brain which is being developed is the brain stem. -
Middle Infancy
The infant will begin to take their first steps and manipulate objects around them (Bang objects together, or close and open a cup). The infant's cerebral cortex, specifically the motor cortex is being developed. The infant's cerebrum experiences development Aswell which allows for the more advanced object manipulation. -
Later infancy
By age two, the infant's brain has developed more efficiently recognizing patterns, colors, and speech.
Growth is occurring in virtually every area of the brain.
