Problem
What are the decomposition rates of the items -
Stirofoam
I believe that the stirofoam will not decompose at all. Because of the texture of the substince it will stay the same. -
Apple
I believe the apple will fully decompose 100% because it will rot down to it's core and the ore of the apple will just decompose. -
Sun Chips Bag
I dont think the regular chips bag will decompose at all. I just believe it will be the exact same as the day we put it down there, but a little dirtier. -
Compostable Chips Bag
I believe the compostable chips bag will decompose about 80% because it needs fourteen weeks to fully decompose and we will only have it in there for eight weeks. -
Foil
I believe the foil will decompose 100%. I beileve this because of the texture of the foil underneath the first layer is pretty much just paper but a little softer. -
Weather Week 4
It's been a pretty warm and sunny week. the apple and orange are probably getting really rotten. Its been about high 70's low to mid 80's. -
Weather Week 4
Its been a cold and wet week so far. Temperature about low to mid 40's. It would be pretty easy to dig up our projects this week since the ground's so wet, but we still have a couple more weeks til then. -
Cotton
I beileve the cotton will decompose 100% because of the texture of it. -
Weather Week 5
So far its only Monday but it looks like a cold week is coming up. Today the high is 49 but right now it is about 37. If it stays like this for the rest of the week it will be miserably cold. -
Orange
I believe that the orange will decompose about 80%. I believe this because without sunlight it will die and just decompose in the ground. I dont think the peel of the orange will decompose all the way. -
Paper
I believe that the paper will decompose about fifty percent. Do to the texturer of the paper it wont decompose all the way. It just isn't going to. -
Foil
The foil didnt decompose like I thought it would. I figured it decompose about 40 percent but it turns out it didnt decompose at all. -
Apple
The apple decomposed about what I though it would 90 percent. It was pretty hard to tell if it was an apple or not because the peel was all black. -
Cotton
The cotton decomposed like I thought it would. Not at all. When we dug it up it was the exact same bu a little dirtier. -
Paper
The paper decomposed about 10 percent. I figured it wouldnt decompose very much. -
Compostable Chips Bag
I figured the compostable chips bag would decompose about 60 percent but it only decomposed about 40 percent.
