  • Light, Dance-friendly music

    In the beginning of the 70's era, the music was light disco music. It let people express themselves in a fun way.
  • Elton John

    Released his first album named Elton John in April of 1970. Thiss started a phenomenon that lasts to this day.
  • Jetti Art

    1500 feet long; 15 feet wide
    April 1970s it was created. The water was elevated below 4197.8 the water rose again and Jetty was not seen again until 2004
  • Cray-1 Supercomputer

    Developed in 1972 by Cray Research Inc. in Minneapolis and Chippewa Falls.
    The first Cray-1 Supercomputer system sold for $8.8 Million
    It was a series of processors that created the main frame of computer systems
  • MRI ideology first created

    MRI ideology first created
    In 1972 an Armenian-American scientist Raymond Damadian created the first MRI machine claiming it could differentiate between cancerous and noncancerous tissues.
  • MRI's changed to 2D and 3D technology

    In 1973 Paul Lauterbur was able
    to expand the 1D images from
    Damadian, into 2D and 3D images
    of the tissues.
  • Bell Bottom Pants fad

    By 1975, the flare
    had become extremely wide, forming
    the large Bell Bottom pants in the 70's.
  • The Hustle - Saturday Night Fever

    Van McCoy released a single named "Do The Hustle" and the name soon translated to most disco style dances.
    There were line or partner forms of the dance and several styles.
    The styles of the dance depended on where in the United States you lived. The L.A. Hustle was different to the NY Hustle.
    It was a mixture between Swing and Latin dancing to a 70s disco beat.
    The Hustle (partner version) came into popularity from the movie Saturday Night Fever.
  • Soft Rock era

    Beginning in the later portion of the 70s, soft rock and song writing came into play over the dance worthy disco songs of earlier years. Musicians like Fleetwood Mac, Peter Frampton, The Who, The Police, The Clash, Bad Company, etc.
  • Apple II Computer systems

    Apple II Computer systems
    Steve Wozniak designed the Apple II 8-bit home computer in 1977. it was one of the first highly successful mass produced microcomputer products manufactured by Apple Inc. It used cassettes to store information and load programs
    The original retail price of the computer was $1,298 for 4 kB and $2,638 for 48 kB
    Since it was one of the only computer models with color capability, the Apple logo was rainbow to reflect its individuality.
  • MRIs go from hours to seconds

    In 1977 Peter Mansfield decreased
    the time it took from hours, to
    seconds. He also performed the
    first scan on a human in July 1977
  • Pac-Man

    Created and distributed with a soft-release in 1979.
    It was an arcade game developed by Namco that later inspired songs and television shows.
    It is one of the highest grossing video games of all time having generated more than $2.5 billion in quarters by the early 1990s.
