First Camera Phone Introduced
In 2000, the first camera phone was introduced by Japan's SoftBank called the J-Phone J-SH04. Photos could be shared wirelessly and no time later a flip phone version was created. This paved the way for the use of camera phones as we are so used to today. Some countries even passed laws regulating their use. -
PowerMac G5 is released
In 2003, Macintosh released the PowerMac G5, the most powerful Macintosh released at that point in time. Considered the first true 64-bit personal computer and a step up from the PowerMac G4. This paved the way to more personal computers created. -
Nintendo Wii
In 2006, the Nintendo Wii came to market which introduced new games and ways to interact with gaming systems. Paired with the Wii remote which used advanced gesture recognition and sensor technologies for the user to interact. It sold more than 100 million units worldwide and allowed access to online gaming services and entertainment offerings. -
Apple Iphone
In 2007, the first Apple iPhone was released, a touchscreen mobile phone with an iPod, Web-browsing capabilities, a camera, and the ability to download apps. This invention helped Apple become one of the most valuable corporations known today. Time Magazine named it Invention of the Year. -
MacBook Air
In 2008, Apple introduced the MacBook Air, which was considered the first thinnest notebook, having a full-size keyboard and a 13-inch screen. Apple was praised for its innovative design and was very successful due to its compact power and portability. They released the second MacBook Air in 2010. Just as iPhones, over the years newer versions and more improvements came to the market, building Apple up even more.
