*When Deborah was 18 somebody asked her to be a teacher for the summer in 1779,1780 and the winter since she taught herself things and loved it.

Even Though women couldn't go to war Deborah disguised her self as a man and her name was Robert Shurtleff Sampson which was named after her deceased brother,but her mother wanted her to marry a wealthy suitor.

Deborah was married to Benjamin Gannet who was a farmer,and they were married in Stoughton,Massachusetts.Together they had three children and one adopted one ,and their names are Earl,Mary,Patience and Susanna.

Deborah's Death

Apr 29, 1827

Deborah died of yellow fever which is a sickness caused by mosquitos at the age of sixty six.
