Debbi Fields was born September 17th, 1956. She grew up in Oakland, California. She was the youngest out of five kids,. Growing up in a middle class life Debbi was always taught to work for what you earn. -
Debbi's First Job!
Debbi got her first job. She worked as a ball girl for the Oakland Athletics'. She got $5 an hour and all the money she got would go to ingredients for making cookies. -
Marriage!
At the age of 19 Debbi was already getting married and ready to spend her life with a man named Randy Fields. they had five girls, Jessica, Jenessa, Jennifer, Ashley, and McKenzie. Sadly in 1997, they got divorced. -
Opening Time!
Debbi was excited and ready to open her business. Mrs. Fields Chocolate Chipery business opened up its doors to everyone in Palo Alto, California. For a few hours no one came in the store so she took a plate of cookies outside ad gave free examples. Soon people started coming in and by the end of the day she had $75 worth of sales. -
Second Store!
With great success in her first store, Debbi decided to open another store. -

Mrs fields company was one of the first companies to start using computer technology advancements. -

debbi sold her company to private investors so she could worry more about her children at the moment. -
Recipie Book
Debbi became the author of three cookbooks. Her first cookbook, 100 Recipes from the Kitchen of Debbi Fields, and it was the first cookbook to be at the top of New Yorks Times bestseller list with over 1.8 million copies sold. Her second cookbook, I Love Chocolate cookbook, had over 1.5 million copies in sale. Soon Debbi started a weekly show, Great American Desserts,and it is also the name of her third book. -
Divorce
In 1997 she divorced her husband Randy. -
Stores
Mrs. Fields Cookies had over 650 stores in the United States, by 1997. Most of her stores were located in or near malls because shoppers would spend more. Debbi developed 14 different cookies. -
Remarried
Debbi got remarried a year later, in 1998, to Michael Rose. He was the Holiday Inn president and a CEO. His daughter Gabrielle Rose swam for the Brazil summer olympics in 1996. -

Debbi received the Golden Gavel Award. the award is for an individual who works hard, demonstrates consistent self-improvement, success, and leadership -
Celebration
In 2007 Mrs. Fields celebrated their 30th anniversary. In honor of that they were searching for a new cookie. A woman from Chandler, Arizona, Carrie Lawrence won. Her cookie was “Oatmeal Peanut Butter Scotchies.” Her cookie was chosen over 700 other recipes that entered for her bakery.
