    The earthquake outside of the Aleutian islands had a 8.1 magnitude. Nearly 5 hours after, with no warning the tsunami hit reaching wave heights of 115ft. Overall there were around 160 casualties.

    The earthquake originating off the coast of Chile was the largest earthquake recorded in the 20th century with a magnitude of 9.5. Nearly 15 minutes after the earthquake waves up to 80 ft hit the Chile coastline destroying many homes and buildings. 15 hour later and around 6,200 miles away the tsunami waves still at around 35 ft tall hit the Hawaiian islands, causing even more destruction. Overall there were 61 casualties in Hawaii and around 1650 casualties overall.

Huge tidal waves hit a Chenega coastal village 4 minutes after the tremors, killing a third of of the village. Overall there were around 160 casualties within Alaska and California.

The tsunami were believed to come from a submarine landslide generated by the earthquake because of the waves arriving 10 minutes later then they should have. Overall there were around 1600 casualties.

The result sent tsunamis all over the Indian ocean with the waves destroying coastlines as far as east africa. Overall between multiple countries the death toll was around 225,000 people.

    The earthquake of the coast of Chile had a magnitude of 8.8. The earthquake was a result of a 300 to 375 mile rupture, and it could be felt as far as Sao Poalo and Brazil. Parts of the coast of Chile were hit with waves as tall as 50ft resulting in around 700 casualties.

Overall there were around 20,000 casualties and around 500,000 people had to evacuate.
