When WW1 came, the US used daylight saving to conserve fuel. After the war, the US repealed it until WW2. -

When WW2 came, the US War Time pushed clocks ahead one hour. Britain pushed their clocks ahead two hours. After the war, the US decided to keep daylight saving hours. -
Daylight Adopted
The US adopted daylight savings, so each time zone gets moved back an hour. -
"Spring Foward" & "Fall Back"
Congress decided to "spring foward" an hour on the first Sunday in April, and fall back an hour the last Sunday in October. -
New Law
Congress passed a law to help with saving energy to extend daylight saving for about a month longer than normal. -
