    The British didn't strictly enforce the parliamentary laws on the colonists. They left the colonists to rule themselves for the most part. This would eventually make the colonist unhappy when the British started to enforce laws.

    French and Indian war cause relations between the English and the colonist to sour. The English passed many taxes on the colonists to help pay for the war. They also passed many laws regulating the life style of the colonists. The colonists were unhappy with how the British were suddenly attempting to control them.

    The Albany Congress sought to bring the 13 colonies together. However, the British proposed that a British leader would have final say. This outraged the colonists as they didn't want to be told what to do. It would also keep the idea around that the colonists should unify.

    The Quartering Act forced colonists to house British regulars. This was heavily despised by the colonists since they had to give up living room to house soldiers.

    Taxes passed on glass, lead, paper, and tea imported into the colonies. This would make the colonists very unhappy as yet again they were being taxed without representation.

    A group of colonists threw objects at British soldiers. The soldiers responded by opening fire, killing 5 colonists.

    Patriot Samuel Adams and the sons of liberty, boarded three British ships and dumped 342 crates of tea into the Boston Harbor.
  • Shot Heard Around the World

    Patriots refused to move out of the way of the British regulars. A shot was fired randomly and a battle ensued. This would be the beginning of the American Revolution.
