    David Bloor is a sociologist who was born in Derby, UK 1942. He went to school at the University of Keele for mathematics and philosophy. He also learned at Cambridge for experimental philosophy.

    Bloor was a teacher at the university of Edinburgh. He was one of the first teachers to not only teach science but to teach it with a socialology standpoint as well. He thought that this was the best way for his students to learn with the most benefit in his class. this way the student could understand the role of a scientist "both within scientific community and in society at large"

  • Strong Progamme

    Bloor was a main character in the ' strong programme' it was an idea that due to the credibility of scientist there ideas where never argued. which led to something the called 'weak idealism' The Strong Programme was arguably the first social approach to scientific knowledge.
